Tendonitis Tenex® Procedure

The CORE Institute Hospital » Services » Tendonitis Tenex® Procedure

A revolutionary, non-surgical procedure to treat tendonitis and soft tissue injuries is now available at The CORE Institute Specialty Hospital.

Called Tenex®, it is a minimally invasive approach to removing the scar tissue that causes chronic tendon pain.

Medical research studies have shown that the Tenex procedure significantly reduces pain and improves functionality for tendonitis of the elbow, hip, knee, and ankle, and plantar fasciitis of the foot. Tenex® works by removing damaged tissue and stimulating a renewed healing response.

The procedure involves the use of an ultrasonic tool to safely breakdown the tissue and a small incision to remove the damaged tissue. It is an outpatient procedure that requires only a local anesthetic. Because the ultrasonic energy just targets the damaged tendon, the surrounding healthy tissue is not impacted. Full recovery takes between four and six weeks.

If you suffer from chronic tendonitis, speak with your doctor about the possibilities of the Tenex® procedure. It might be just the right approach to your tendonitis or soft tissue injury.
